Glasses of wine are $8 or more and beer is relatively more expensive than I would normally feel cheery about paying. But for a respite from the bustle of the crowds and commercialized, once-sleepy mountain town, it was nice.
We stopped in after browsing the shops in Blue Ridge. We only had a couple of glasses of wine, but the menu had some items that really sounded delicious. There are some Georgia wines on the wine list and my lady had one of them (blackberry, I believe). It was a bit sweet for my palette, but it was fruity and bright. I had a great glass of Cabernet, which went well with the cool, sunny day.
The first time we came in was about a year ago. The lady there served the people behind us before giving us sub-par help at best.
This is the second time we have come in here and been snubbed or ignored. This time we were about to buy a wine and some olive oil dipping sauce. We are out of town so when we saw a ton of people we thought it was open. We get in grab our things and some guy with a half bald head came up to us with his arms and hands up and yelled at us saying,"This is a private party! Get out!"
We stopped for the wine and beer tasting, it is outrageous expensive. They were $20 each, I got 1 swallow of each of 6 wines... for $20 I could have bought a whole bottle of wine. We got 3 oz each of 6 beers, better than the wine but could have got 32 oz growler for at the most $14. I would skip it, better places and cheaper in Blue Ridge.
Laid back and relaxing...
I was disrespected by the bartender or owner seems to be a theme for this establishment. My fiance and our two children came in to buy 5 bottles of local wine. My son of 21 months just woke up from a nap and needed a diaper change the bathroom supported no place but a dirty floor, so I opted out to change him on a sofa. The bartender watched as she took a phone call after she hung up she told us to throw the diaper out outside and I would of taken it with me. Then she began saying we needed to use a cloth and when she was a mother she always used a cloth. Well excuse me lady my son is basically potty trained and if you were a mom you would have a proper changing station but you didn't. When you were rude and told us to get out we spent $127 at your competition. And you old second hand falling apart couch and ugly decor do not match the steep prices. You should be more respectful to local clients.
This was a fun shop, the service was very personal yet the shop was quite busy at the time I visited
