Spent Father's Day weekend here. Very quiet place at night, the only sounds was the wind and the creek. Great spot to get away. Grass wasn't cut though. The road was crowded with people fishing for trout along the creek during the day (Saturday). Short drive from campground to many hiking trails. No cell service (Verizon) at campground. Love to fish

Loved it

Sites are first-come-first-served and can be hard to come by on weekends or during peak fishing season though there are scattered backcountry sites along the forest service roads if this one is full though those lack any amenities.

A hidden gem 5 miles down a gravel forest service road. Miles from civilization and cell service tucked in right on the edge of Rock Creek in the middle of the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area. A perfect getaway if you want to unplug, see the stars, and sleep to the sounds of nature.

Beautiful and well maintained campground. Bathrooms are vault style but are nice. Most of the sites sit along Rock Creek and all have picnic table, large tent pad and a lantern pole. Be sure to visit the hatchery if you stay during the week (don't think it is open on the weekends). Rock Creek Lake is a short drive, bike ride or walk away. The Appalachian Trail is a short 5-10 minute drive up the mountain (where you can get cellphone service if needed). The Campground does sit on a well maintained gravel road... meaning you can get there by car if you take it easy. Truck, crossover or suv would be my preference. Oh yeah.. it is $8 a night (cash only). It is a great place to visit, you really feel like you are out there.. I hope you get to visit! YouTube: neverbikealone

The campground is well maintained with gravel pads, campfire rings, picnic tables, and space for 2 cars per site. One site is paved for ADA accessibility. There is no electricity or water though there is a well-kept vault toilet restroom.
