We were staying at a Bed & Breakfast in Blue Ridge, Ga. but decided to spend our last night at the Blue Ridge, Ga Comfort Inn & Suites, because it sat on top of a hill and had a better view. The day before I checked in I called the hotel and made a reservation. I requested the AAA rate. When I checked in I was given a card to sign. I was told it was because the room was non-smoking. I sign and initialed it without reading it. When we checked out I found that I was charged the standard rate. When I asked that the rate be adjusted ($12.00) they refused saying I signed the card and I did not present my AAA card even though they did not ask me for it and also remembered that I had requested the AAA rate. I tried to call Choice Hotel’s customer service line numerous times over for 2 days. I got the standard recording about I was a valued customer and someone would be with me shortly. No one picked up the line even after 10 minutes. I never got to talk to anyone.
Hotel was clean and very nice on the inside and out. Beautiful view of the mountain ranges. Great location. New carpeting on the inside. The lobby and the facilities are beautiful. I loved the little patio/lounge area outside of the lobby with the patio furniture and rocking chairs. Very relaxing. They have beautiful artwork and canvas prints that line the hallways. Smelled and felt clean and fresh. My boyfriend and I were only there for half a day to visit family from PA that came for the eclipse and were staying there. The only negative was that there was a used condom outside on the sidewalk, not necessarily the staffs fault, but at the same time you figure that someone in the staff would have walked by it and seen it. There were also a few piles of dog poop on the patch of grass by where the condom was. Again, not really the staffs fault, more of the guests fault for being irresponsible and not picking up after themselves. Overall, for the short amount of time we were there it was a good experience. Don't let the condom scare you off. This place is gorgeous and clean, and does NOT seem like the stereotypical kind of place where you would find a condom in the parking lot on any old day.
Personnel was not courteous, a/c set to 60, but room was warm. Reported twice was told a/c was blowing at 32 degrees. Breakfast was the only good thing at this hotel. False fire alarm at 4:30 am, must happen alot, fire department arrived and left a few minutes later. Happy to check out of this hotel!!
Beautiful location. Horrible staff. What a joke. We were slandered and facts twisted when trying to report an a/c problem which by the way if you go to a few sites you will see it is a common theme (along with the Operations Manager lack of concern and lies). Make sure you don't ask a question of the front desk because it will be held against you and you will be accused of being drunk. We stayed one night for a wedding. Such a shame the wedding brought business to this horrible outfit. Beware it's a franchise so Choice Hotels corporate can't do much.
Great hotel with the BEST mountain views! Breakfast was fresh, warm, good choices, and replenished even with a crowd. Hotel is convenient to everything we needed. Staff are VERY busy keeping things clean, breakfast filled, rooms ready and cleaned..but not too friendly. Not sure why. We enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Would be GREAT to add evening free drinks/snacks and fire pits to the GREAT outdoor area and a picnic table in the back area. Just an idea!
